Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing is the first car developed in-house by Mercedes' performance division AMG. This is a real sports car with a heritage. The new SLS by Mercedes Benz is a beautiful reincarnation of the iconic car. But it is not just mimicking the original car but bettering it in every aspect using its soul.

Unique technology package:

An AMG 6.3-litre V8 front-mid engine developing a healthy 571 hp at 6800 rpm peak output and dry sump lubrication, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in a transaxle configuration and sports suspension with aluminum double wishbones sums up the package. The SLS AMG Gullwing comes with an aluminum space frame body with gullwing doors and body with a 48/52 weight distribution between front and rear, with the help of the low placed front-mid engine. 0 to 60 mph acceleration will be completed in 3.5 seconds. There's a self-imposed speed limit of 196 mph.
The car will be sold for a price that slots right between Corvette ZR1 and Ferrari California.

With So Many Great Options Why Not Buy American?

There are so many great American offerings currently in the market: Corvette, Corvette Z06, Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang GT, Dodge Challenger to name a few. They have better prices in comparison to European competitors, they have an extended dealer and service network, they have much more aftermarket upgrade articles for much better prices, and the new generation American muscle cars are more reliable than ever. So why not buy American.

According to the post by Michael Taylor of San Francisco Chronicle (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/topdown/detail?entry_id=47035), most car buyers are thinking "Buy American"!

Some 81 percent of would-be auto buyers who took part in a national survey conducted by Consumer Reports, the non-profit monthly magazine, said they were "likely to consider a domestic brand," the magazine said a few days ago. Asian brands piqued the interest of only 47 percent of potential car buyers and European brands were even lower, at 46 percent. Ford got the nod as the domestic brand most favored of the Big Three U.S. auto makers, the survey reported.

Nissan GT-R is a slow car!!!

If you already own a Nissan GT-R or you'd like to purchase one but you think that in its stock form the car is a little bit slow, then you have options!

Two of the best current offerings come from Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) and Stillen.

Hennessey's popular GT600 upgrade package includes lots of goodies and offers a power upgrade to 642 hp @ 6,500 rpm and 622 lb-ft Torque @ 4,100 rpm. Compared to the stock car's already good specs (485 horsepower @ 6,400 rpm and 434 lb-ft of torque @ 3,200–5,200 rpm), these numbers are phenomenal. What's even better, is the actual accelleration and handling of HPE GT600. It makes the stock car look slow.

Hennessey also offers a GT700 and a GT800 package for people looking for even more power and more ferocious accelleration.

Another renowned tuner that breached the 600 bhp barrier with its GTR is Stillen. Stillen's 2009 Targa Rally car produces 620 bhp @ 15psi boost.
